Pie diabético en Las Tunas protegido por el Heberprot-P

Las Tunas.- Más 362 tuneros han sido beneficiados, en lo que va de este año, con el Heberprot-P, tratamiento prescrito para la terapia de la úlcera del pie diabético (UPD), según trascendió, durante la evaluación semestral del Programa de Atención Integral al Paciente con esa afección en el territorio y su Jornada Científica precongreso, reseña el sitio digital del periódico 26.

Lázaro Estenoz Cosme, promotor del Centro de Ingeniería Genética y Biotecnología (CIGB), reconoció la labor sostenida del personal de Salud que hacen de esta provincia una de las más destacadas del país en la aplicación del producto.

“Desde el 2014 hasta la fecha se han tratado más de 3 mil 300 personas en Las Tunas, con resultados que prueban la efectividad de nuestro medicamento y permiten reducir el número de amputaciones. Ello responde a la voluntad y la unidad del equipo de trabajo en los municipios.

“No obstante, las estadísticas reflejan una disminución de la cantidad de pobladores atendidos con respecto a años anteriores. Por tal motivo, sugerimos retomar con mayor intención el pesquisaje en la Atención Primaria de Salud, pues de eso depende la detección temprana de las lesiones que evitan las complicaciones”.

El policínico, Rafael Izquierdo, de Puerto Padre, junto al Francisco Camaño de “Colombia”, Guillermo Tejas y Aquiles Espinosa del municipio cabecera, 7 de Noviembre de Majibacoa, y 14 de Junio de Jobabo marchan hasta hoy, a la delantera en la inclusión de pacientes.

Como parte de la Jornada Científica se presentaron audiovisuales de los productos más novedosos del CIGB y experiencias de algunos de los favorecidos con el Heberprot-P aquí. Asimismo, varios profesionales compartieron saberes sobre la aplicación e impacto del fármaco en unidades médicas locales.

Estenoz llamó a la población a cuidar los miembros inferiores y acudir a los centros asistenciales desde los primeros estadios. Para este año el potencial por incluir es de 646 casos, teniendo en cuenta el índice de habitantes con diabetes mellitus, los cuales corren el riesgo de padecer UPD en algún momento de sus vidas.

Heberprot-P es el producto líder entre los más de 25 del Centro de Ingeniería Genética y Biotecnología de Cuba, y único en el mundo; a la vez que ahora está en fase clínica una nueva forma de aplicación para hacerlo no doloroso.

Al cierre de 2017 Las Tunas registró 23 mil 170 pacientes diabéticos, y mil 598 fueron casos nuevos; viven en este territorio más de cien niños con la enfermedad, catalogada la pandemia del siglo XXI, con altas probabilidades de seguir su incidencia y por consiguiente el riesgo de padecer úlceras de pie.
